The government's largest single organization (second only to the combined Departments of Defense) had recently undergone a massive reorganization into Strategic Business Units (SBUs). Several SBU executive leaders and their staffs had identified the increasing challenge to enhance individual and team performance and productivity. Driven by the specter of privatization and the need for measurable performance improvements, the agency wanted to proactively respond to the challenge.
Based on our previous success working with this agency and our reputation within the agency for practical, results-oriented training, Work Systems Affiliates was asked to develop a customized Performance Coaching and Performance Consulting Training Institute.
Work Systems Affiliates responded to the challenge by partnering with key agency leaders to understand and assess the dynamic, complex challenges of enhancing performance. The result was the creation of a highly adaptive and flexible, modularized Performance Coaching and Performance Consulting Institute.
The Institute consists of a series of hands-on training, coaching, consulting, and leadership modules with a consistent systemic theme and tool set. The macro level goal is to help key leaders and managers develop systemic and sustainable performance enhancement.
Over the past six years the Performance Coaching and Performance Consulting Institute has proven so successful that it has traveled through several agency departments due to employee requests. To date, hundreds of participants have completed one of several customized versions of the Institute, and we are now piloting an Institute for Managers.
