Speaker: Dr. Paul Stimson
Date: June 17, 2009 - NEHRA Breakfast Workshop (Location TBA)
Registration: NEHRA will be accepting registrations for this event soon at www.nehra.org.
Session Overview:
All change initiatives have one thing in common. With good leadership they usually succeed. Without it, they are doomed to failure -- or at least a much longer, costlier road to success. And the most effective change leadership emanates from those who are not in the driver's seat.
As a manager you usually can't drive the core content of a major change initiative, but whether you realize it or not, you will have a significant impact on how it is led. Will your impact be positive or negative? Will you contribute to the success or derailment of the initiative and ultimately your organization?
This session will give you the tools to increase your effectiveness as a change agent.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand your role in the change process.
- How to understand the strategic reasoning behind any change initiative and translate it for those you lead.
- How to assess common reactions to change and plan for overcoming inevitable obstacles, resistance and objections.
- Optimize your part of the organization for effective change implementation.
- Develop and deliver communications that build commitment to the “new way.”
- Hold critical conversations with those who seem most resistant to change initiatives.
